OSX's Unix mountpoints are different-there's no meta-construct (like a drive letter) to mount to. DOSBox picks it up, because from DOSBox's point of view, you've just swapped discs.I'm not sure how to do that in OSX. Then, do the disc switching in the OS, outside of DOSBox-when the game wants disc 2 or disc 3 or whatever, you just unmount the old image and mount the new image to the same mountpoint. I'm still too new to Mac to tell you how to do this in OSX, but I know exactly how I'd do it on a PC-create disk images of your CDs, then map a drive in DOSBox to a virtual CD-ROM drive (like something provided by Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%). Am looking for ways to work around multiple CD's with Pandora Directive. Use DOSBOX with other games obviously, but if they're multiple CD's, good luck. Unfortunately:quote:'Moreover, DOS programs that run in protected mode, which include most games released after 1995, may not perform as well as in other emulators such as VMware or Virtual PC, since those programs mostly virtualize the processor instead of emulating it like DOSBox.' And I know my Tex Murphy Adventure games ran in protected mode. For that ScummVM is really just straight forward.1) Download ScummVM2) Open package and drag ScummVM to Applications folder3) Copy files from Game CD to folder on harddrive (no need to install or anything).4) Start ScummVM and playAnd I really only ever played and enjoyed the Lucas Arts games when I was younger. However, choice is good, and am glad to see there is DosBOX. I just wanted to play my old Monkey Island games and The Dig. Hand-drawn graphics still looks nice today and the atmospheric music… wow! □ Now, I’m off to Puerto Pollo on Plunder Island, since I heard a seller there has a bottomless mug police.Hmmm, never heard of DosBox. If you are an AmigaOS 4 user and have not tried this game, please do so, you will not regret it! The game is actually from 1997, but holds up very, very well. I was not disappointed, the game works perfectly in all ways! Bottomless Mug Policy I’ve played Monkey Island 3 on several PC-s and was curious to see how it ran on AmigaOS 4. There are two game-modes, easy and hard, so pick the one you’d be most comfortable with. The game is easy to get into with excellent controls, but some of the puzzles can be a bit tricky to solve. If you haven’t played the game before, then you’re truly in for a laugh and some chuckles. The story goes on from there and on the way you’ll encounter the most crazy, funny and interesting characters you can ever imagine. She was turned into a gold statue after Guybrush gave her a cursed engagement ring. You’re playing as Guybrush Threepwood, a mighty pirate (at least he thinks he is), who must find a way to save the love of his life, Elaine. GameplayĪs most of you know, Monkey Island 3 is a point-and-click adventure game from LucasArts. ScummVM can be downloaded from OS4Depot or by clicking here.ĬOMI is not abandonware (as far as I know), so you’ll need the original to play the game. Launch ScummVM and add the game by selecting the folder containing the files.Copy the contents of these into the directory mentioned above. Make a directory in your ScummVM folder called “Monke圓” or something similar.Getting COMI to run on AmigaOS 4 is quite straight-forward. How does it fare on AmigaOS 4? The Curse of Monkey Island Today I’d like to write about one of my all-time favorite games, namely Monkey Island 3. So, no more emulating AmigaOS 4 for a while, now I’m running it on a dedicated system instead! Emulation is good for getting a sense of the OS and its possibilities, but it is a completely different experience to use it on a computer that was made for it. Hi and welcome to a new post on the Gaming on AmigaOS 4 blog! This is a bit special post for me, since it is the first one I write on my new AmigaOne 500 computer from Acube Systems.
